St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church is a very active parish with a lot of events. The need to communicate about all of the opportunities at the church requires a web design with a large amount of information. The left side of the home page shows information commonly sought by less frequent visitors to the site – mass times, bulletin, links to the homily archive, and more. The middle of the home page has a magazine format which features the latest news, homilies, and events.

The bottom of the site lists links for more frequent visitors. Here they can quickly access tools and other applications used by the parish.
The calendar section of this site is powered by a custom plugin. A shortcode provides upcoming events in list or grid format. Users can easily include a flyer or a link to a registration page. The plugin prompts for various fields such as location, recommended ages, and contact information. This helps with uniformity on the site since a large number of users with varying ranges of technical expertise are submitting events.
Another feature powered by the custom WordPress plugin is the sign ups feature. Parishoners can access a list of current service projects as seen below.
Members can click on a project and sign up for a specific time slot by entering their name and email address.
Other features on this site include a room reservation system to book parish facilities, easy posting of photos by the heads of organizations, and sharing of all sorts of information using a consistent format.
